The Colca Canyon is a canyon of the Colca River in southern Peru, located about 160 kilometres (99 mi) northwest of Arequipa. It is Peru's third most-visited tourist destination with about 120,000 visitors annually.
Day 1: After 3 hours of travel, we arrived at the town of Chivay to have breakfast, (use of the hygienic services) and we continued with direction of the Cross of the Condor, in this place we will enjoy for a time of 1 ½ hour of the fabulous flight of the Condores, to then reach the town of CABANACONDE with 3 287 m.a.s.l. place where we will have lunch and prepare to start our walk, passing through the Pampa de San Miguel, where we will appreciate part of the route we will take.
Descent of the Canyon towards the annex of San Juan de Chuccho with 2 300 m.a.s.l. taking a walk approx. 4 hours to the Colca River, we cross the suspension bridge, appreciating its varied flora with fruit trees, native plants and medicinal herbs. Dinner. Overnight.
Day 2: Early breakfast. We continue our tour, by a small path to visit the town of Cosñirhua with 2 660 m.a.s.l. and later Malata, then we descend to Sangalle, also known as the Oasis with 2 160 m.a.s.l., where we will arrive after 3 hours of walking, refreshing ourselves in the pools of 20 C °.
Day 3: Early we prepare to make our ascent to the canyon with a walk time of 4 hours aprox., towards the town of CABANACONDE. . Breakfast.
Approximately at 10 a.m. in our tourist transport we went to the town of Chivay, with stops in the Valley to appreciate the Inca and pre Inca terraces such as the Wayrapunko Viewpoint, in the town of Yanque to appreciate the colonial architecture of its baroque style mestizo temple. Arrival at the town of CHIVAY. Optionally visit the thermos medicinal baths of La Calera with 38 º C where we can enjoy its relaxing waters. Return to Chivay
